Field Lacrosse Information

New Westminster has a long standing reputation in the game of lacrosse and the New Westminster Minor Lacrosse Association (NWMLA) is proud to offer the youth of New Westminster a positive and safe recreational choice for players of all skill levels.

Note to returning players: For the 2024-25 season, the BCLA has replaced U17 & U19 with U18; see the following for a breakdown of all age groups: 2023-2024 BCLA Age Groups-Minor Box & 2024-25 BCLA Age Groups – Field

The NWMLA is a member association of the Pacific Coast Field Lacrosse League (PCFLL). The season takes place during the Fall/Winter months. The PCFLL consist of Youth (co-ed) and Women’s (female only) divisions in the following age groups: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, and U18.

Girls are welcome to register and play in the Youth (co-ed) or Women-only division. Women’s field lacrosse is non-contact, and is a game based on stick skills, speed, and strategic play. In the younger divisions, girls play a 7-vs-7 style of game on a half field – the focus is on development of their stick skills, passing and positioning. In the older divisions, girls play 11-vs-11 on a full field.
