Girls - Dorothy Robertson Memorial Tournament

Dorothy Robertson dedicated her life to the game of lacrosse.  As a member of the British Columbia Lacrosse Association (BCLA) Dorothy spent many hours working at the game she loved.  When Dorothy wasn't at the BCLA office in Burnaby she could be found watching lacrosse games.  If you wanted to find Dorothy after office hours you didn't need to look any farther than Queen's Park Arena in New Westminster.  A plaque still sits to this day on the wall below Dorothy's usual seat.  One look at the location of this seat and you'll be able to tell how knowledgeable Dorothy was about the game of lacrosse, the seat is not at centre floor but tucked away in the corner near the entrance to the visitor's side of the arena that is the perfect vantage point to see everything that was happening during the game.

Dorothy's dedication to lacrosse was only surpassed by her dedication to her family.  That's why Dorothy's children founded The Dorothy Robertson Lacrosse Bursary is awarded each year to a female player, coach or official in the local community who exemplifies Dorothy's core lacrosse values about the game of lacrosse; hard work, fair play, respect and giving back to the lacrosse community.
